Suttle Lodge Wedding, Sisters OR | Julia + Jimmy

Julia and Jimmy’s autumn wedding at Suttle Lodge was so much fun to design. They turned their wedding into a full weekend adventure, renting out the lodge and having their guests stay on site. Suttle Lodge, in the Deschutes National Forest outside of Sisters, OR embodies chic, camp wedding vibes to the max. With options for lakes edge or forest ceremony and an intimate indoor reception space (or bigger reception space if you rent a tent) Suttle lodge is Wes Anderson, Moonrise Kingdom wedding venue heaven!

With boating, hiking, fishing, lounging, skiing and stargazing, Suttle Lodge transports you and your wedding crew into full-fledged adventurers. Got a bunch of city slickers on your guest list who aren’t up for venturing into the Oregon wild? That’s no prob. They’ve got cozy cabins, huge fireplaces and great drinks at the bar. Plus, Suttle Lodge is super dog friendly, a must for Julia and Jimmy who included their cute pup-tourage in the wedding party and festivities.

The couple had a very sweet remembrance ceremony after they said their wedding vows for guests to place flowers in the lake in honor of family who had passed. It was a very tender moment and beautiful touch to include in their wedding.

For this wedding, we played off the lush green forest vibes, incorporating rich burgundy with accents of blush, cream and gold into the florals. Using dahlias as the focal flower (a great late summer/early fall show stopper) along with dried golden ferns from the surrounding forest. Adding bits of clematis vine with their whimsical little seed puffs to play off camp fire smoke and fair weather clouds. Their wedding planner was Ella Events and photographer Robert J Hill.
